How Can I Check My SMTP Server Address

October 16, 2022 / How-to Guide
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is a set of rules used to send and receive email over the Internet. A SMTP server handles sending and receiving email. Suppose, when you want to send any letter to your friend, you pack the letter in an envelope and write the friend’s home address on it. Now here you are an email client, the envelope is like an email message and the friend’s home address is like the recipient’s email address. And the SMTP server acts as a post office for email.

The SMTP server receives the letter from you (email client) then it checks the address and then sends it to your friend’s home (recipient’s email address).

Sometimes you need to know the IP address of the SMTP server to properly configure your mail program. Finding the IP address is easy if you know the name of the SMTP server.
