What is Email Hosting?
Email hosting is a service designed for users that want a personalised, professional-looking email address using an ad-free, secure and spacious platform.
Today’s customers expect professional and business emails to have ‘own domain’ email addresses, e.g., [email protected], not free email addresses from Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo. A personalised email address doesn’t just look professional; it establishes your brand’s unique identity and gives those you correspond with increased trust in your credibility.
Email hosting also allows you to create the exact email addresses you need for different circumstances – for example, you could create departmental addresses such as enquiries@, support@, sales@ or accounts@, as well as personal addresses for staff, e.g., ceo@ or j.smith@. You can even set up a donotreply@ address to send automated marketing and administrative messages.
You’ll also be able to manage all of your mailboxes from one centralised location, allowing you to create new addresses, set up forwarding and autoresponders or reset passwords quickly and easily.
Once you’ve set up your personal or business email address, you can send and receive messages anywhere with an internet connection. There’s plenty of room in your inbox and you can also attach and send files to whoever you choose. Staying organised is easy, with folders available for sorting and archiving.
Do I need technical knowledge to use email?
No, you don’t need any technical know-how to use email; however, our technical support team is available 24/7 to help.
Do I have to own a Domain Name to buy an email package?
Yes. To customise your email with a unique domain name, you will need to own that domain. Buying a domain is inexpensive and simple to do and once you’ve registered it, nobody else can use it. What’s more, you can use that same domain to host both your website and your email.
Whether you are looking for a personal or business email address, one of the best parts of email hosting is that you can pick a domain that reflects who you are as an individual or company.
If you don’t yet have a domain, don’t worry; you can buy one when you sign up for one of our email plans.
What are IMAP4 and POP3?
IMAP4 and POP3 are two different ways of sending and receiving emails that are available with email hosting. The main difference between them is that when using POP3, emails are deleted from the email server once you have downloaded them to your device, while with IMAP4, they are not deleted from the server.
While this means you may need more storage to use IMAP4, its main benefit over POP3 is that, by keeping the emails on the server, they can be accessed and synced across multiple devices. With lots of people now using multiple devices to access their email, IMAP4 is the best choice for ensuring you always have access to all your mail wherever you are.
