How to Convert an Addon Domain to a Primary Domain in cPanel

Follow these simple steps, you can effortlessly transform any add-on domain into the primary domain in no time.

Log into “WHM.”
Search for the Transfer option and select “Convert Addon Domain to Account” from the menu.
On the right side of the screen, you’ll find a list of add-on domains hosted on your server. Select the Add-on Domain and click on the “Convert” button
After identifying the add-on domain you wish to convert, simply click on it, and then proceed by clicking the “Convert” option.
In the following interface, input the contact email for the new account, choose the desired package to assign to this new account, and typically, you can retain the default setting for “Preserve Account Ownership.”
Scroll down the page until you reach the Selection details section for the addon domain. By default, the conversion process will automatically include all data, including DNS records, emails, databases, subaccounts, and FTP accounts, and transfer them to the primary account. If you prefer to customise the selected data, click the Configure button.
Proceed by scrolling down the page and selecting the “Start Conversion” button.
After the conversion process is complete, you can access comprehensive information about the process by clicking on the “Details” button.
To confirm the successful completion of the conversion, navigate to the left-side menu and click on “List Accounts.” If the addon domain has been successfully converted, you will find the new primary domain account listed in this section.
