Regularly backing up your site helps you in many situations. If backup is easily available, your problems can be solved if you lose your important data or your website gets hacked. There is nothing you can do to restore your website if you don’t have a backup.
A website backup is a copy of all important files and directories on your website. Each backup copy includes the database, images, website code files and any additional files your website needs.
To Create a Website Backup in cPanel:
- Log into your cPanel account
- Scroll to the Files section

- Click on the Backup icon.
- When the backup page opens, you will have the option to download a full backup of your website or a partial backup of various types of data (Home directory, MYSQL database, Email forwarders and Email headers).

- When you have chosen which backup you require, click on the corresponding blue button.
- If you choose to backup the entire account, another page will open where you can choose whether to save the data to the home directory or to a remote directory as recommended. Note that full backups cannot be restored through cPanel.

- Partial backups can be restored using cPanel and are created and downloaded directly to your computer when you click the corresponding blue button.
- Once your backups are downloaded, you need to store them safely and securely.
