# cd /usr/local/src
# wget http://www.maxmind.com/download/geoip/api/c/GeoIP.tar.gz

It should be extracted.

# tar -zxvf GeoIP.tar.gz
# cd GeoIP-*

Now is the time to compile it.

# ./configure
# make && make install
