The instructions in this post will help you add a Null MX to Plesk. A Null MX record effectively disables a domain’s mail services, preventing email from being delivered to it through Plesk.
Emails for a domain should be routed to servers specified by Mail Exchange (MX) records. For your domain to receive email, this record is required.
Add a null MX :
- Log in to Plesk.
- Select the domain from which you wish to no longer receive emails.
- Select DNS under “Hosting & DNS.”
- Make a new DNS record and set its type to MX.
- For the current domain alone, you can leave the host entry blank. Alternatively, you can specifically specify the host entry for a subdomain, or you can set it to * to block all subdomains.
Note: Confirm that the priority is set to 0 and that the mail exchange server is empty.
- Check to see whether the other MX records for the domain have been deleted.
- Click “Update” to save the DNS settings.
- As soon as remote mail servers detect the modified DNS, they should stop forwarding emails to the specified domain.
