How to replicate website content to external FTP storage in Plesk

In this article, we have explained how to replicate website content to external FTP storage in Plesk.

Note: This process only transfers website content, not databases.

  1. Log into Plesk.
  2. Go to Website Copying. Navigate to “Domains.”

  3. Select the source domain (e.g., example.com).
  4. Click on “Website Copying.”

  5. Now, Select the “FTP storage” option.
  6. Enter FTP Storage Details:
    1. Server host name: Enter the FTP storage hostname (e.g., my.ftp.storage.com).
    2. Port: Default is 21, change if needed.
    3. Directory: Specify the directory on the FTP storage (e.g., /backup/example.com)
    4. Username: Enter your FTP storage username.
    5. Password: Enter your FTP storage password.
    6. FTP connection method:
      – Active mode: Recommended if no firewall.
      – Passive mode: Use if behind a firewall.
  7. Start the Replication Process by clicking on OK button.
