How to convert a hosting user into a reseller user in Plesk

Converting a Plesk customer to a reseller lets that account manage its own customers and hosting subscriptions. This guide explains how a Plesk administrator can change the account type and review its hosting limits.

Before you start

You need administrator access and a Plesk edition that supports resellers. Check the customer’s existing subscriptions, resource usage and required permissions before choosing a reseller plan.

Convert the customer account

1. Log in to the Plesk administrator panel in Service Provider view.
2. Open Customers and select the customer account.
3. Click Convert to Reseller.
4. Choose a reseller plan with suitable limits and permissions. The Custom option can preserve the resource allocation based on the customer’s existing subscriptions; review the resulting limits before proceeding.
5. Confirm the conversion.
6. Open Resellers, select the converted account and check its subscriptions, resource limits and permissions.

This changes the account’s role in Plesk. It does not, by itself, change a customer’s billing agreement.
