How to Update the Password of an FTP Account in cPanel

This tutorial will tell you how to update the password of an FTP account in cPanel.

FTP accounts are used to administer and upload files to the site. When you sign up for hosting, establish a cPanel, create an addon domain or subdomain, or enable anonymous FTP, it is automatically created in cPanel. 

 

Follow the steps to update the password:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Select the “Files” section and then select the “FTP accounts” option.
  3. Scroll down the FTP accounts page, and select the FTP account whose password you wish to change.
  4. Enter the password or you can use the password generator. Password should be very strong.
  5. Click on the “Change Password” button.
  6. You will receive a message that the password has been changed.
