How to Turn Off ModSecurity in cPanel

ModSecurity:

ModSecurity, often known as Modsec, is a free web application firewall (WAF). Originally intended as a module for the Apache HTTP Server, it has expanded to include a variety of HTTP request and response filtering capabilities, as well as other security features, across a variety of platforms, including Apache HTTP Server, Microsoft IIS, and Nginx.

Steps to turn off ModSecurity in cPanel:

  1. Go to your cPanel account and log in.

  2. In the Security section, pick the ModSecurity option.

  3. The list of domains can be found in your cPanel account.

  4. Click the Off switch under a domain’s Status to enable or disable ModSecurity.

  5. The warning window will appear as soon as you turn off the ModSecurity.

  6. You will receive a success message.

  7. Sort out and solve the problem you’re having.
  8. Right after that, enable the ModSecurity by clicking the On switch for the domain.
  9. And now also you will get a message of success that you have switch on the ModSecurity option.

Notifying: After resolving the issue, turn on the domain’s ModSecurity immediately. If you don’t, it could damage your security. Never leave ModSecurity disabled for an extended period of time.
