How to show hidden files in cPanel

This guide illustrates how to display hidden files in cPanel. You should not assume that your .htaccess file is missing from cPanel if the File Manager does not open immediately. By default, the .htaccess file remains hidden.

Follow the simple steps:

1. Log into cPanel.
2. Select the “Files” option and click on the “File Manager” sub-option.
   
3. Click on the “Settings” button in the top-right corner of the screen.
   
4. A pop-up window for “Preferences” will appear.
5. Select “Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)” by checking the box.
6. Click on the “Save” button.
