The VPS/Dedicated servers are the best and class-one in terms of performance. You can restart it when you need to install and configure the software. The restarting process of a dedicated server is explained in this article.
Note- It is suggested not to restart your server frequently. As it may cause other issues.
Follow the steps:
- Log in to WHM.
- Search for the “System Reboot” option from the left-hand side of the screen.
- You will find two options under it. “Forceful Server Reboot” and “Graceful Server Reboot”.
- In the case of emergencies like an attack by a hacker, one should always select the “Forceful server reboot” option. The server will restart immediately without shutting down any open programmes. However, there is a chance that the programme files will become corrupted as a result of the forced shutdown.
- If not, we advise you to select a “Graceful server reboot”, which will let running processes finish before shutting down. Even if it takes some time, this method is the safer one.
- Select as per your requirement and click on the “Proceed” button as shown above. It will take some time depending on the option you choose.
This way your VPS/Dedicated server will be restarted. If you want help, contact our support staff or you can also post your query on our web hosting forums. A participant in our community will likely have a response for you.
