In this article, we will explain the process of enabling and disabling pingbacks and trackbacks on your WordPress website.
Pingbacks and trackbacks serve as link notifications, allowing you to monitor when external sites link to your content. When activated, these notifications are visible in the comments section of your posts.
Follow these steps to configure whether new WordPress posts allow pingbacks and trackbacks by default:
Note: This setting applies to new posts and can be overridden on individual posts. Existing posts may need to be updated separately if you want to change their pingback and trackback settings
- Access your WordPress dashboard as the administrator.

- Now click Settings and then select Discussion.

- In the Default post settings section:
- Click on Save.
In this way, you can enable/disable Pingbacks and Trackbacks in WordPress.
