Zikula is a open source web based content management system which can create dynamic webpages. Zikula is a kind of application which is framed under the GNU (General Public License). It can be used to develop robust, secure, interactive and editable websites and web based applications. Zikula web hosting, can also help in creating the eCommerce websites, community portals or blog websites. The Complete coding is done under object oriented which is PHP and is fully modular. It requires a database and may use leading platforms like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.

Step 1: First of all you have to select the language and click on Next.

Step 2: As soon as you click on the next you will see a new window. Once you read and accept the General Public License agreement click on Accept button to continue further.

Step 3: The script automatically checks if all the system requirements are met. Then you just have to click on the next button. If you are unable to see any image above, you can login to the file manager tool and correct the file permissions. Click here to learn how to change file/folder permissions.

Step 4: Make sure that you do enter the database information as follows:

Database type: MySQL
Database Table Type: MyISAM
Database Host: localhost
Database username: desired login *
Database password: desired password *
Database name: username_database * (the name of the database you created).
Table prefix: nuke (a good name for table prefix)

Note: If you are going to add a database called “database” and your cPanel username is “new website”, the complete name of the database will be “database_new website”. Rest of all leave it as it is.

Step 5: As you go ahead you have to select the installation type.
There are basically two options which are available:
# Basic – only the modules required for the basic operation of a site are installed.
# Complete – all the modules found in the system are installed.

Once you have selected the appropriate option, then click on the Next button to continue further and then add the information of Zikula admin account. Fill up the blank fields, and click next.

Step 6: Now you are done with basic settings and you can select the module for getting started. You can also change these details later. Click on next after that. You will have to select from the default themes that are preinstalled.

Please not that it can be changed later. Click on Next after selecting the theme and its done.
