The description given below will help you with installing WordPress from the cPanel control panel using Softaculous.
Login to your website’s admin panel in order to start the WordPress installation on your website. Usually, you can locate this at yourwebsite.com/cpanel or yourwebsite.com:2082.
Scroll down until you locate the Software/Services where you can see Softaculous. Softaculous offers with multiple scripts. Here we are concentrating on installing WordPress however if you would like to install any other web application, the process would not be very different than this.
Scroll-down to Blogs. Locate the WordPress link and click on it. You will find the link on the left-hand sidebar in Softaculous.
Once you get in Softaculous, there will be a brief information regarding WordPress. Look for the Install link; you will find it placed above the header, click on that link to initiate the installation process.
Softaculous will set the default settings automatically, if required you can also customize them. At the top of the page, you will have to select the appropriate domain where you would like to install WordPress. You must also select the directory for installing WordPress. It will fill the box with the default install destination – yourwebsite.com/wp.
You will have to fill the empty boxes. For the ‘In Directory field’ type a new directory name that you would like to create. If the box is left blank, the software will proceed with the installation with your main directory name by default. Once that is done, click on Install.
Give a name and description to your website, type in the desired administrator username, password and email address. If you would like to have a secure key (password), you must click on the key logo and you will get a randomly generated password. Then click on Install.
You will now see a confirmation page for the installation.
You can access the link for going to your WordPress admin-page or type “yourwebsite.com/wp-admin” in the browser. Now type in the login name (username) and password that you that you created during the installation process.
At this login, you would be prompted to change your password. You can ignore this by clicking on – ‘No Thanks, Do not remind me again’.
The installation process is complete.
