LAMP means Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. You can download Cent OS from www.centos.org and install it on your server. After that you can start with the installation of Apache, My-SQL and PHP.

For installing Apache via Yum Command:-

First login into the server via Root access and then type the following command

[[email protected] ~]# yum install httpd

Once you type the above command, this wil send a instruction to your Cent OS server to download Apache and install it.

For installing MySQL via Yum Command:-

After installing Apache you can install MySQL. For this also you need to login via root and then type the following command

[[email protected] ~]#yum install mysql-server mysql

Once you type the above command, this wil send a instruction to your Cent OS server to download MySQL and install it.

 For installing PHP via Yum Command:-

After installing Apache and MySQL you can install PHP. For this also you need to login via root and then type the following command

[[email protected] ~]#yum install php

Once you type the above command, this wil send a instruction to your Cent OS server to download PHP and install it.

You can also install Apache, PHP and MySQL using a single command. For this you can login via root and then type the following command

[[email protected] ~]# yum install httpd php mysql-server mysql

This command will automatically download and install pache, PHP and MySQL on your Linux Cent OS server.

Once you download LAMP on your server, you need to start those services. For starting those you need to login via root and type the following commands.
For starting Apache

[[email protected] ~]# service httpd start

For starting MySQL database service

[[email protected] ~]# service mysqld start

Now to test if PHP is properly installed or not, you need to create a phpinfo page for a domain and access it vai URL http://domain.com/phpinfo.php. This will show you the php version installed along with its php modules.

In this way you can successfully install LAMP on your Linux Cent OS server.
