In our case – Cloud hosting is based on advanced technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V that allow multiple servers in a cluster to act as one system. While the traditional hosting solutions (shared or dedicated) depend on one server only, cloud hosting make use of multiple servers thereby ensuring redundancy and high availability.

How does a Cloud Server work?
Cloud hosting environment makes use of a number of different servers in a cluster to ensure that there will always be at least one server available to cope up with the load on the cluster or to replace a crashed server. The hosting is spread across the entire Cloud and each server is generally assigned to perform a single task meaning that a single cloud hosting account will never be relying on an individual server in the cloud hosting environment.

Which distribution is Cloud Server offered on?
Linux OS – CentOS, Ubuntu Fedora Core & Debian.
Windows OS – Windows 2008 Standard & Windows 2008 Enterprise

Do you offer a trial period or demo?
We do not offer a trial period. However, all Cloud plans come under a 30 day money back guarantee.

How long will it take to set up my account?
The Cloud Server will take 8 – 10 hrs for set up after the order verification is complete.

What Control panels do you offer with Cloud Servers?
We offer cPanel & Plesk for Linux and Plesk for Windows. These are available at an additional cost.

Will you manage my Cloud Server?
Yes, all servers are fully managed by us at no extra cost.

What happens if I go over by bandwidth limit?
You can easily upgrade bandwidth for the Cloud server by contacting our Billing Department.

Can I make my Cloud Server PCI compliant?
Yes, you can.

Can I purchase additional CPU, RAM, bandwidth and disk space?
Yes, you can easily upgrade those options for the Cloud server by contacting our Billing Department.

Do I get root/admin access to the Cloud Server?
Absolutely. Cloud Server gives you full root access to your Linux server and Adminstrator access to your Windows Server.

How many IP’s are assigned to the Cloud Server?
By default we provide 2 IP’s to the Cloud Server. Additional IP’s are £2 GBP per month per IP.

Can I run/install a 3rd party software or script not listed on your website?
Yes, you can. With Cloud you have complete access to the server and you can easily install/run the software’s/application of your choice of course as long as it doesn’t violate our TOS.

Do you offer backups and what are the prices?
Yes, we do. Webhosting.UK.COM keeps backups of the entire hardware server that your Cloud is on. This is so we can restore an entire server in case an emergency arises. Additionally, a R1Soft CDP Backup Plan can be purchased to automate backups on Cloud Servers. Backup Plans start £12 GBP per month for 10 GB Backup Space.

What is the minimum contract for Cloud Servers?
We offer month-to-month, quarterly, semi-annual and annual billing term. We offer one month free if you pre-pay for 6 months (semi-annual) and two months free if you pre-pay for 12 months (annual). So, you pay for five months and ten months respectively.

How do cloud servers differ from virtual private servers (VPS)?
A typically VPS node uses a container technology like Virtuozzo to isolate multiple users on a single server from one another. Cloud Servers makes use of number of servers, VMware vSphere offers fault tolerant and utilizes high availability (HA) features to keep your services online. Totally customizable, each Cloud Server gives you full root access to your Linux distribution and Adminstrator access to your Windows Server.
