  • .desktop file creation to open a directory for Nemo

    How can I create a .desktop file that opens a directory in Nemo?

    Does anyone here know how to do it?

    You can also set and use a bookmark in Nemo.

      Simply create .desktop launcher as defined here and in Exec run the command nemo using your directory path.
      It may look something like this:

      Exec=nemo /home

        Unless you want Nemo to control the desktop; e.g. if you don't want showing the content of ~/Desktop on the desktop or if you currently have an alternative desktop file manage, you need to add the --no-desktop flag. This won't change anything if Nemo has already been handling the desktop so it is safe to include regardless.

          I've got it now, the executable command should be:

          Exec=bash -c "nemo ./Documents/FolderToOpen"

            Why go through Bash rather than invoking Nemo directly?
