For example, instead of just setting your site for the word 'health', you can set your site for the words 'health cure osteoporosis'.

- Summarise Your Site

Find keywords that summarise your site. If your site is about Middle Eastern cooking, you can use keywords like 'meditteranean cuisine' and so on.

- Heading

Make sure that the keywords are located at the heading of your website. This is to let your customers know what you're offering to them and giving it to them straight. The heading is also featured in search engines when they're looking for your site, so these keywords in your heading play a small part in helping your site to be found.

- Similarities and Spelling

Search for similarities or double meanings in your keywords that people also type in to search for your product. For example if people are looking for the Portable Playstation, you can also include in the abbreviation PSP.

A lot of people have spelling errors when they type certain keywords online. What you should do is doing some trial and error on certain keywords you feel people normally mis-spell and add it on to your site.

- Placement of Your Keywords

Place your keywords at least 3-4 times in your website. Preferably, one in the introduction, two in the body copy and the last one is in the conclusion of the site. The reason on why you do is is because search engines love it when your site has repetitive keywords, confirming the relevancy of your site with that keyword phrase. Do not repeat them too much, though because it can make your content seem unprofessional.

Difference Between Keywords and Tags

What about tags? Just wondering what is the difference between Keywords and Tags.

Seems to be same but I'm sure they are 2 different concepts though. Can anyone highlight the difference between both please?

As far as I know, Tags are used to categorize a post or say an article according to the content it has. keywords are used so that the post or the article can be searched on the search engines easily with the help of those keywords.

Hence, tags are basically categories and keywords are the search terms. Hope this helps..

It's confusing because there is a meta keywords tag

However you don't really need to worry about that because it is largely ignored. The main thing Google will look for is the URL. If you are searching for pink and white elephants and there is a page on your site called pink and white elephants.php you're onto a winner.

The page title is important, as is the meta description tag. Then we move down to stuff between < h1 > tags

Finally, as the advice said, a good sprinkling of keywords throughout the page content will also help.

Get familiar with Google Analytics, there is a lot of good info there.

I've no objection to Imabhas copying from other sources as long as Imabhas does not try to pass the work off as
Imabhas' own. What was wrong with simply posting the link?

There is a competition, the one that offers free hosting for 50 quality posts. Still, I'm sure the administrators will taking originality into account when determining whether a post qualifies as 'quality'.

I think Tags can be used very well to categorize a post or an article. For example, you can have 3-4 posts with the same tags which will categorize those posts. However, you can also use same keywords for those articles but this is not preferred.

You can also use similar keywords for different posts. You should make sure that you have used those keywords in the content of the post for which you have used the keywords. It is important that you use keywords in the content of the article or your website which will help you to get good rankings for that post or your website for those particular keywords.
