  • Beware of domain hacking.

Do not check your desired domain availability from any unreliable site. It may happen than after some day you will see that domain is not available.

    See this article.

Yes that happened with me several time especially checking domain with a unpopular domain registrar as someone registered the domain before I reach to the shopping cart for checkout, but I am sure any reputed registrar don't do that. Thanks for the link.

Actually we research hard to get a good domain name to start a web site and if your business is full of competition then your domain name becomes more generic & common. Means if you get a good domain just don't waste your time searching availability on unreliable sites; you need to search availability on good and reliable company like webhosting.uk.com and sign-up fast!
Everything is important which is beyond my knowledge!

I always check domain availability from Godaddy, hope they are reliable. I never encountered such problem except once, it may be a co-incidence also.

Yep, these reputed registrar provides extra security features like ACL (Access Control Lists) that protect the domain name from hackers and unauthorized access. It's just matter of few more cents but you get extra protection if you register domain name from reliable registrar or a host.

Maybe Whois guard will be good in this case.

                    Hi,

You can either opt to using domain locking which can be found in your control panel. Basically what the guys above were going on about is taking security measures when registering your own domain name. Some websites have some sort of script which registers the domain name upon checking to see if it's reliable. What my offers of assistance would be is use http://www.godaddy.com as i guarantee that they are 100% reliable.
