  • Horde Mail

    Hi everyone,

I have only recently taken out a VPS hosting package and have a question about webmail.

Pre-installed Horder does not seem to offer a spam folder for any of the domains / websites I setup. I have been told that standard Webhorde does not allow for this.

Just wondered what everyone else was doing about this or if anyone had advice on the issue? I'm running Plesk on Windows.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Ben,

I've asked our VPS support administrator to look into this. One of the VPS administrator will update you in this thread once they have a solution.

      Hi Ben

The MailEnable version available with the VPS Plesk control panel is the standard version - its their free version. This does not offer a separate spam folder and nor does it allow sent mails to be saved. If you wish to have both these features in Horde, then you would have to upgrade to the Professional or Enterprise edition. You would have to purchase the license yourself.

True. I completely agree with Jackie. You will have to upgrade MailEnable if you want to have a separate spam folder. You can upgrade MailEnable from Standard Edition to the Professional Edition or Enterprise Edition. You will have to purchase the license for it. You can purchase the license directly from the MailEnable website. Once you purchase the license you will be provided a license key. You will have to provide this key to the Windows VPS support department and they will upgrade MailEnable for you.

Pro and the Enterprise versions are expensive.

You can check the license cost from their website mailenable.com

The price seems to be quite high. However, Enterprise edition is the best one as it includes all the features of Professional edition and Standard edition. But make sure, Enterprise edition is the most expensive one

Hey Caroline, if "Enterprise edition is the best one" then very obvious that "Enterprise edition is the most expensive one" . If you spend more then you must hope for the best one and vice-versa.

Well Matt, it is the best as the features provided with it are very useful and affective. However, it is not necessary that the best option is the most expensive one. The best option is what suits your needs and it is not necessary that the product which suits you needs and requirements is the most expensive one. Please be advised about this

If you don't have any custom requirements then I would like to advise you to stay with Standard version.

Thank you Caroline! It is indeed correct that the one which suits your needs and requirements is always the best .
The mostly costly product is considered to be the best product by the supplier or the company launching the merchandise or service.

Now you got my point Matt. You should always choose the product which suits your requirements irrespective of the cost of the product. I definitely agree to it that one has to choose a product according to the budget he/she has. However, it is also important that the product we buy meets our needs and requirements. Otherwise, the product will be of no use.
