Yes WHUK will install SSL on your website for free only if your website is hosted with WHUK. If you just purchase the SSL Certificate from WHUK and the website is hosted with another company then WHUK is not at all responsible for the installation of SSL even if it is purchased from them.
Certainly. It will be possible for WHUK to install SSL certificate on your website if your website is hosted with WHUK. It won't be possible to install SSL certificate on your website if your website is not hosted with WHUK. However, you can purchase an SSL certificate from WHUK and install it on your website but you should make sure that you will have to install SSL certificate yourself.

While installing the SSL certificate mostly you will need to generate the Key file & Certificate Signing Request (CSR). If you don't have time or knowledge about it, then your web host can do that for you.

Please correct me i am wrong anywhere....

Yes, The main purpose of using SSL and TLS is security over the internet and SSL is certainly more secured and hence it is the most preferred in comparison to TLS.

    Hi Carrick,
Yes SSL certificate is anytime more secure than TSL.

SSL is definitely more preferred over TLS and the reason for this is the fact that it is considered to be more secured that TLS.

Self-signed certificates cannot be compared with the SSL certificates made by the companies. The SSL certificates made by the company are used by many and it can be considered as a tried and tested solution. When it comes to Self-signed certificates, it will be designed and used by you and hence you cannot consider it safe and reliable enough.

Thanks James... Do the Self-signed SSL Certificates work as effectively as the company SSL?

SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) cannot be operated with one another. They are similar in terms of security. Both are Internet security protocols and take care of the data to be encrypted and on;y then transmitted over the Internet. The major difference is that TLS allows secure as-well-as insecure connections over the same port whereas SSL requires a designated secure port.
