Regarding the dedicated server that you had in promotion, I'm interested in purchasing it however can you answer these queries regarding it.

1. Why don't I see the servers any longer in the promotions?
2. Is there anyway I can reduce the price?
3. For a dedicated server is a firewall essential, what are the risks of not having a firewall?
4. i do not purchase backup space, does this stop me from backing up my website onto my personal computer?
5. is it essential to have a cpanel/whm for a dedicated server, if i did not have one is there other ways for me to access my server?

Let me try and answer your questions one-by-one :

1. Why don't I see the servers any longer in the promotions?

Ans: The promotions are active only until stocks last. If you don't find a particular server that you had seen earlier, that means the servers are sold-out. Though, I'd still insist about letting us know the server that interests you.

2. Is there anyway I can reduce the price?

Ans: Once you let us know the server you are referring to, we will try working it out.

3. For a dedicated server is a firewall essential, what are the risks of not having a firewall?

Ans: A firewall prevents unauthorized use and access to your network. The job of a firewall is to carefully analyze data entering and exiting the network based on your configuration. It ignores information that comes from an unsecured, unknown or suspicious locations.

4. i do not purchase backup space, does this stop me from backing up my website onto my personal computer?

Ans: You can maintain your own backup. The one we offer is a fully automated backup plan which will store the data on a remote server located in another Data Center in UK.

5. is it essential to have a cpanel/whm for a dedicated server, if i did not have one is there other ways for me to access my server?

Ans: No, not at all, having a control panel is a matter of choice. Though we highly recommend having it as it simplifies you to manage the server. Without it you would have to manage the server with the command line.

What type of videos would be there on your website? How much traffic you are expecting? In which promotional server you are interested? Let me know, I can help you to select the right server configuration.

I will recommend that you chose a hardware firewall with the server that you select for this purpose. One of my friends had a games and video based website, which was compromised due to huge traffic coming from some specific IP's. Such websites are prone to attacks so better to have better protection.
