  • Install unrar on Fedora core Linux Server

    If you are using Fedora core Linux server then use yum to install rar :

    yum install unrar

    You can also do it with following steps:

    Login to your linux server with root user .

    [email protected] [~]#cd /tmp

    [email protected] [~]#wget http:// www . rarlab.com/rar/rarlinux-3.6.0.tar.gz

    [email protected] [~]#tar -zxvf rarlinux-3.6.0.tar.gz

    [email protected] [~]#cd rar

    [email protected] [~]#cp rar unrar /bin
    To extract rar file you have to use following command

    [email protected] [~]# unrar e file.rar

    May be I'm somehow coming late, but as an Ubuntu user/fan/dev/enthu I'll add this too -That wasn't a Path by the way.-

    Oh and yeah, install both rar & unrar through Synaptic or type in the terminal:

    sudo apt-get install unrar rar

    Type your password afterwards and hit enter.

    And that's it! This should apply to the majority of the Debian based Distros, be it Ubuntu, Mint that is based itself on Ubuntu just like Sabily and the rest of the list, or Debian itself.

    If you're using Synaptic, hit (Ctrl+f) and type "rar" then check both "rar" and "unrar" and Click on" Apply".
