unable to access web site

i have a small website which i have loaded into my internet server,
if i go into the cpanel hosting control panel i can see the file there, and if i access it I can
read the contents of the file which look ok to me." I have named the file
index.html" I cannot acces the site via my browser,when i type the
address in it simply says it cannot be found. Can you help please. Roy
