  • How to setup mail forwarder from cpanel ?

    Only me again

I'm trying to setup mail forwarder from cpanel but not getting anywhere. I have made an email account and added a forwarder for that account. Any emails sent to the account show in webmail but dont get forwarded to my other email address. What have I missed?

Nothing as far as I can see. Of course, you don't have to create a email account to set up a forwarder.

That's what I tried at first but when it didnt work I tried creating a mail account as well as the forwarder but nothing has been forwarded so far.

There is a tutorial in the forwarders section, not that I'm suggesting you've set it up incorrectly. Most likely it is being blocked at the receiving end for some reason. Try the trace link in the forwarders section to see if there are any routing errors.

In this case, I would suggest you to contact your hosting provider. They will fix this problem within few minutes.

Are you able to send emails at the forwarded mail account separately? Like: mail@yourdomain forwarded at mail1232yourdomain. Are you able to send emails directly at mail123@yourdomain ?

If emails for the forwarded mail account are working fine, your web hosting provider should be able to resolve this for you.

Thanks for the replies. It seems to have magically started working, teething problems - I guess I was too hasty expecting it to work the seconds after setting it up.

                Glad to hear that.

Paul, in such case you should contact our VPS department through 24x7 Live Chat support.
