Adding a blog to my static website

I have a static website, but now I am thinking to add a blog to it. I have read about the importance of having a blog and therefore I wanted to know if this blog would be functional in terms of getting more traffic to my website. I am planning to add a blog tab on my static website where a WordPress blog can be linked with a different url. I wanted to know if this step would actually bring traffic to my website, or it will just get traffic to the blog?

Its better to add blog on static website. 100% static website seems to be dead. So adding blog is actually better. If blog get related traffic, you can convert on your static page. If blog will not get traffic, you will lose nothing. If visitor from your static website goes to blog then also you will lose nothing.
