Should I build my B2B website using Woocommerce or Shopify?

I run a wholesale business and was wondering whether I should use Woocomerce or Shopify.

My online shop will be dedicated to wholesale buyers (B2B) who will buy in bulk, and I will not even display the prices on my website; instead, I will simply make it easier for my clients to place an order online rather than calling or emailing me the products they want. Then I email them the pricing, and they pay through bank transfer.

I have some WordPress experience because I've been running multiple blogs for over ten years. But I'm wondering which one would be better and more appropriate for a B2B platform. Would my current WordPress experience be sufficient to run a WooCommerce site?

If I had to do this, I'd go with Woocommerce. Woocommerce is flexible. Shopify would be more limited than Woocommerce.

Yes, woocommerce is the way to go for me.

It may have a learning curve, but I've had several people tell me that once they learned woocommerce, they preferred it to Shopify. If Shopify offers a free trial, I'd recommend you to try both and determining which is best for you.

Depending on your requirements Woocommerce is what I would recommend. Shopify is a ready-made platform that I believe would be too much for your needs given that you mention payments via bank transfer and that you will not enter prices.

Have you thought about using Opencart or Prestashop? For the past five years, I have used Prestashop in my business. It is easily customizable and includes a plethora of free and paid modules. It allows you to enable catalogue mode by default (to hide prices and add to cart buttons). Which is ideal in your situation.

As others have stated, Woocommerce can be very slow. I would personally look into Opencart or Prestashop as well, and then explore your options with the information that you gain.

I believe it is entirely dependent on your technical abilities. If you want to easily set up the website yourself, I would recommend Shopify because it appears to be easier. Personally, we prefer WordPress/WooCommerce because we have more design flexibility and a large number of free plugins. In this case, Yoast SEO is ideal for optimising a WooCommerce store.

I think WordPress is the widely used CMS to develop eCommerce stores. I have personally used that CMS to develop the online store website.
