  • LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing)?

I have heard a lot about LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) but i don't know how to use it. Do anyone have some idea on it?

Its basically an retrieval and indexing method, based on the mathematical technique called SVD ( Singular Value Decomposition). LSI is used to recognize patterns in the relationships between the concepts and terms. Basic principle of LSI is that it words are used in same contexts have a tendency to have same meanings.

At times, the web searcher is not using the appropriate keyword or phrases because of not having good knowledge of appropriate vocabulary. So the user is using only similar words which may not return to the proper information if the search process follows the Boolean patters. LSI technique facilitates the retrieval of the related content even if the search queries do not use the “correct” words.

LSI is used by Google and many other search engines in order to determine relevancy of your keywords and phrases in context to the content of the site. Your site can’t be optimized for higher ranks, if don’t use keywords and phrases sensibly. If you are not using theme related keywords that won’t help LSI tools to identify your site’s relevance to your search queries. For example if your website is about Cars parts, the keywords you should use goes like this Hoods, Spoilers, Engines, Side Skirts e.t.c. all of them related the main keyword. If you are not using LSI your site is damned to stay unnoticed.
