First off make sure you have the correct fields in your meta tags - title, description, content etc
Then make sure you are search engine listed
Get yourself listed in directories relevant to your content
Make sure your content changes at least daily.

Have a look at SEO tips, start with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization and work from there.

Sorry, in fact most of the downloadable wallpapers, ringtones websites are considered mostly spam these days and there are tons of such websites struggling in search sphere. I think community driven approach would be best, check out with some of social sites in the area you're targeting and create fan group, this will help you to promote your website in effective way.

In addition to the above mentioned strategies, you can also advertise yourself on UK based sites that people visit regularly. Try and concentrate more on submissions to UK directories.

you are basically working on the project where you are sharing wallpapers, ringtones, themes etc. you are not working on article base website, so you will need to follow the strategies mentioned below:

                    1. Give the file a name that clearly represents what the image is. This will help communicate what keywords you are optimizing for with the search engines. Ex. Your picture is of a vacation home on the beach. Name it “vacation beach house.” This is a much better option than a filename like IMG 12345.
                    2. For the image description tag you will want to use a long description. In the world of SEO, it may be referred to as a “long-tail keyword.” Ex. “3 bedroom vacation beach house in New York.”
                    3. When you “tag” the photo, make sure your tags/keywords match exactly what the product is or image is representing.
                    4. Apply short descriptions to ALT tags. Ex. “beach house at Jones Beach.”
                    5. Save your photos as JPG files.
                    6. Try making the image path as uncomplicated and short as possible. An example of a good path would be examplesite.com/vacation-house. An example of a bad path would be examplesite.com/pictures/houses/vacation-house.
                    7. Be sure the file folder that stores your images is not blocked by the robots.txt file.
                    8. Page content surrounding the image is a must!
                    9. Do not add “click to see larger image” within the JavaScript link. This limits what the search engines can access and is a common mistake.
                    10. Experiment by re-uploading the picture. Image freshness is a clue for the search engines and may affect relevancy.

You can use the same strategies for ringtones and themes wherever the points are applicable.

Hope these points will help you in optimizing your website for search engines.

                      Nice tips.....

Also, you can do some banner advertising on other relative forums, participate in them and let the members know about your website putting your website links in your signature. Participating in Social bookmarking and networking sites is also a good way to get visitors. Try out the Link Dump submissions as well.

I think the most effective way is keyword optimization in search engines.

The tips given by Grover are good. You can use them for your website. As your website is an image website make sure that the image directory of the website is accessible to search engines. Also, enabling image search in Google Webmaster Central will be excellent. Hope this helps..
