Will SEO End?

Yesterday one of my friend asked me an interesting question

"Did SEO ends at any time ?"

Whatz your opinion guys?

It will not die suddenly but will die slowly since they seems diverting towards localized and personalized search. Also for example last month there were 945,000 searches for a "sexy woman." and only 159,000 searches for "intelligent woman, so there are users those going to bring them into life.

SEO won’t die until the search box does! As long as folks continue to use that to find whatever it is they are looking for, SEO will be around.

The way social networking is mounting it seems SEO either will merge with social networking or completely mutate to SN next level. just guessing.

SEO will not end but it will change as SE algorithm changes, SEO will change. Search engines are the only better and easy way to search new/vital information quickly from a huge information databases. And for most of the websites SEs are the main source of traffic and as long as it reamins the main source of traffic SEO in some form or other will always be there.

They'll always EXIST.

So don't stop SEO of your site, you may loose your SE rankings.

For gettting better ranking and traffic some webmaster blindly run behind SEO and fell prey of over-optimization. You should optimise your site after having proper research.

SEO will have it's life till search engines exist and people use them; no worries for SEO professionals

While largely agreeing with Theo I'd say that I hope SEO will end. Regulars will know my position on SEO so as far as I'm concerned the sooner the search engines can put a halt to all this gaming of the system the better.

Actually most of people are unaware that SEO is not ONLY thing for getting success online. I know few 500 fortune companies that have good business set up and just having a site and no rank, no backlinks but they are doing business in billion. I again repeat SEO is not just enough.

IMO, SEO will be there till the time Search engines will be used. SEO techniques will keep on changing according to the SE algorithms. I think Search engines also like site owners doing SEO which directly or indirectly increases their importance for all the users.

SEO won't end.. infact SEO is evolving with time and new concepts and algorithms come in at regular intervals. SEO will always be there as long as there are websites, links and search engine spiders.

SEO will never die so easily rather it's flavor may get changed: as it has did recently by introducing some new concepts as " Personalize search and Latent semantic indexing " challenging webmasters for tweaking search results.

I guess it’s the other way round. Search engines keep adding tweaks to their algorithms and keep the webmasters on their toes, so that they do not dominate the search results.

Yep, even google shows irrelevant search results for few query terms rather than high quality search results so tweaking is necessary time to time to give users good results.
