  • Is knowledgebase or FAQ section a requirement for a hosting website?

I have been wondering should a hosting company or a product selling website have a separate section for FAQ's? Do customers really look out for information on the website to answers for frequently asked questions? So is according to you a knowledgebase or FAQ section a requirement for a website?

FAQ is a very important section of a product selling website. It's very useful for the buyers as they get answers of most of their questions in the FAQ section. If the buyer has any questions, he first searches for the FAQs, if he/she don't finds the answer in the FAQ area then he/she would contact the company through available contact options. FAQ is a good sign of showing professionalism and as a company you cut down the number of support instances.

Yes I agree, it is very important to have a FAQ and KB section on your website. If you're into business, you must have a FAQ section where customers can easily find help. A good enough knowledgebase may also give you some good amount of clicks from Search engines.

Completely Agree! Very important to have a good KB for your website. We have a huge KB on our site and receive a lot of views from Google for the articles and help we have added to it. Visitors even open up live chats and ask for help. So I personally recommend having a FAQ and or KB section.

Search engines and visitors both love FAQ's Customers can just click those FAQ buttons and quickly get an overview of your company’s product. I will highly recommend having one for your website.

Great replies guys. So I guess I should go and add some more data on our FAQ/KB page. For many visitors, FAQ/KB pages are often the first page they go to after visiting the home page so I will also add a link for it on our main page

Yeah but then please be advised that this takes a lot of regular updating the posts / articles and FAQ's that you post on your website. It is important to keep them updated otherwise a visitor only gets the impression that the staff isn't very active.

Right, it's important to keep updating it regularly. If your FAQ section mentions you offer PHP 5.1 and 5.2 whereas your servers are already using PHP 5.3, you may end up losing a potential customer

@ neoanderson120 - I'll highly recommend having a wide FAQ/KB section on your website. Just just go ahead with it
