  • Question for unlimited....

Is it really possible? I mean without a flat server over charge that ends up bombarding the server to start with, is this actually possible. How many statistics would you need to run to make sure there is no way possible all clients on a server that is unlimited could not in fact bog it down?

Well, unlimited disk space and bandwidth is not possible in the hosting industry and some of the hosting providers claim to offer unlimited disk space and bandwidth just to attract customers.

Though, it will be possible for you to setup as many accounts as you need on the dedicated server, the server will offer good performance only if you have limited accounts setup on the dedicated server and some resources are kept as reserve.

I think it's not possible and they just use the "unlimited" jargon as their marketing gimmick. I think they assume (or rather speculate) that most small websites of their clients wouldn't exceed the reasonable amount of bandwidth and disk space.

Even if it's possible, I don't think they could maintain the best performance of their servers especially when the website hosted there grow and consume more bandwith due to their increasing bandwidth.

Yea I fully get its not really unlimited, nothing in life is other than the BS some places try to feed you. I guess I am thinking more along the lines of if someone wanted to resell, how you could explain to them without confusing semi geeks, you know what I mean? Those who want unlimited but have no idea how it really works.

Unlimited is a hype word, “there is a limit, many people just won't tell it".

That's true. There is always a limit and the web hosts offering unlimited packages assume that the websites hosted there wouldn't reach the limit they set.

But how can you host unlimited domain name is one hosting account, there must be limit in it. web hosting are usually offering in cpanel, Plesk, or h-sphere control panel, and these control panel allows you to add new domain name into your account, and host the new domain name at your same web hosting space.
