    This means we can say that if URL and URN are combined then it forms URI.

    Ok. There is one more term you must have heard of;
    URN- Uniform Resource Name.
    Now I will explain the difference between the three:
    The difference between URL, URI and URN is as follows:
    1) URI is the string of characters used to identify the resource using both the Name and Location as well.
    2) URL is used to reach the resource just by using the “Location”.
    3) URN is used to reach the resource just by using the “Name”.
    Hope now you have a much clear idea.

    URI means Uniform Resource Identifier. It is a sequence of characters that classifies a source on the internet either by locality or by designation, or both.
