  • cs-cart vs Cubecart vs Zencart

One of my friends is considering starting an eCommerce website. He already has a website established through which he sells products, this website is maintained manually (static HTML) this is the reason why he does not get time to catch up with all the updates, as the sales have increased to a great extent.

He would like to get a new eCommerce hosting platform and he is mainly interested in getting an efficient shopping cart software. I have been googling some reviews, and here I am - I'm asking you. I have shortlisted cs-cart, Zencart and cubecart. So far, I find Zencart Shopping Cart most promising.

    What do you think?

    Thank you

Out of the options you have listed, Zencart is definitely the one which should be selected. One of the primary reasons is the fact that it's completely free which is the best benefit according to me The other is the fact that despite being a free application, it is being developed and has latest stable releases available which is not noticed for the other options you mentioned.

The best way to determine the best option for you is to compare their features. Please have a look at the following product features URL:

By comparing them you will find the difference and the best amongst all three of them.

If your friend is are really interested in getting a fully featured shopping cart for his eCommerce website, then I would recommend to go with the Magento an open source eCommerce platform. The features it offers are incomparable with any other shopping carts. Another good shopping cart is osCommerce. It also offers great features and allows you to add multiple products on your shopping site, organize them well in categories, allows you to set discounts, special promotions and accepts payment methods like PayPal, credit cards, cheques, etc... osCommerce provides an in-built shipping and tax functionality. You may ask your friend to choose one of these open source ecommerce platforms.
