I'm looking for a Managed WordPress video+content blog, where I should have full control with customized setting. I had a very bad experience with my old WP installations getting hacked frequently, due to WP security and i don't wanted to get that issue again for my blog as i lost huge amount of time as well as money. So please suggest me some thing taking care of upgrades and ensuring that everything works, securing the installation, etc.

For wordpress and having videos on the site, it is better to have your own UK VPS, Fully Managed Dedicated or a Managed Semi-dedicated server. You can easily customize settings as you have full control on the server. The servers are fully managed as you know so you be assured about the security

For hosting videos on your website, you will need to start with atleast a UK based VPS hosting plan. It will offer you a Dedicated amount of RAM and you will have a Root Administrative access to the server which will give a better performance to your website which contains videos. You can even upgrade your hosting plan and move onto a Higher UK VPS or a Managed Cloud or even onto a UK Dedicated server when your increase your videos or the traffic on your website increases.

That's right, usually video files are huge files which requires high server resources for processing hence we always recommend you to go with high end hosting package if you wish to host video files on your website.
For a low end video based website you may consider a Managed VPS /semi-dedicated and if you have heavy traffic and long videos hosted on your server then certainly a high end dedicated server is recommended for better performance.

Since you say you need customization, which is not possible on UK Shared servers. You need to consider UK VPS, Semi-dedicated or a Cheap dedicated server depending on the resources your website needs and the traffic you expect.

If you had a simple wordpress blog, a cheap shared plan would have been fine. But if you plan to put videos on the blog, a shared server is not the option for you. A VPS might be a good start. All your customization can be take care on one of those.

I think you could start with a shared plan as well. Of course as long as your host allows you to host videos on their servers. If not, a Managed VPS is the way to go.

I think hosting some videos requires lots of bandwidth, so I think a UK VPS would be a better solution for hosting videos. If you wish to host a simple Wordpress website than a Cheap Shared plan will be good enough to start with depending upon the space and bandwidth that you need.

You may check on the hosts that wordpress stated on their section, best hosts to consider for wordpress. They are bluehost, dreamhost, temple media and laughing squid. You may look for their different packages and compare the best offer that suited your budget.

Woprdpress sites are resource intensive and it is better to choose a virtual server for the site. Video sites need good resources, especially RAM. Does not mean that shared plans won't provide you with good resources but there the resources are shared between other users as well. When you have high traffic on website a shared server may not be enough.
