Ranking web hosting affiliate sites the organic way!

So, I have been trying to target WHUK hosting plans as an affiliate and have decided to go with low competition keywords to target, but the thing that worries me the most is that there seem to be a lot of authority sites that are ranking above everyone else even though they do not seem to target the main keyword....

Have any of you guys come across something like this before in niches where there is a lot of competition?

I too have come across such sites before in difficult to rank keywords but the reason why they are ranking above other sites is because of Google giving preference to brands and if I am not wrong Google has already mentioned about this on their official blog. I believe long form content has a lot of do with it and also silo comes pretty handy as your internal linking structure needs to be properly organized.

I have read that update and am finding it hard to outrank those brands or maybe I need to start including LSI keywords as a part of my content strategy as it's all about semantic web now
