The Google +1 button is great! No doubt about it. However, only the person who is logged into the Google account can +1 anything. In terms of the search engine results, there might be some limitations. Also, the Google +1 cannot be implemented in the private pages.

Despite the hype created for G+, I really don't find it any simplistic. It's just that BECAUSE it's a Google product and something that can help people boost their website rankings in search engines (to a certain extent), it has made this far. Incomparison to other mature services such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, G+ still seems to be a toddler. That's my opinion though, not sure about your opinions, but would like to know for sure !

In my opinion, the Google +1 button is beneficial. As a result of Google +1’s effect on the social search, there is also an indirect effect on the search engine ranking. It is a fact that the +1’d link has a greater click through rate (CTR) as it has a higher authority in the social search. The +1d link has a better potential of being shared on the other social networking websites as well.

Having given Google+ time to settle in, I think the whole '+1' thing isn't as important as it was expected to be, mainly due to the continuing failure of Google to really push development on Google+.
Sad really.

The main benefit of using the Google+1 button is a convenient way of social networking. If the people visiting your website or blog finds the content useful, then he/she will share it with the people in the Google+ network. This is a great way of making your website or blog popular. If many people share the company’s page through the Google+1 button, it can get more viewers and thereby prospective customers.

I'm liking this new feature from Google. Google+ is growing in importance and soon I think it will become common place to see the +1 button and Facebooks Like buttons next to website content. I will be looking into adding the +1 button feature to my website as soon as possible.
Has anyone actually successfully implemented it yet?

I didn't place the Google +1 button on my sites yet, but I'm planning to try it on my blog very soon. I guess this is for Google's new social network the same thing the "thumbs up" is for facebook. Pretty unoriginal, don't you think so?

I put the button on my website also. I think it has the same function as the 'like' feature of Facebook does. I wonder if it counts when Google calculates your website ranking though.

Yes I put the button on my website a few months ago, but nobody votes for my website yet, despite the increasing number of internet users who 'liked' my Facebook page promoting the website.

Thanks for the link Kanang
It seems Google has now found out that some useful content is missed from the searches as the website is not popular or for some other reason. This may have been introduced to highlight this type of content and hopefully it will have a positive effect on the search engine results.
