1. Does your reseller hosting require a static IP address for remote SQL Server access?
Ans : It is not necessary to use a static IP address for remote SQL Server access, you can connect to MS-SQL database using our shared server’s IP address from anywhere with any type of internet connection.

2. Will we be able to import data from Access DB’s where required?
Ans : Our Windows server support MS Access database, you can simply upload your .MDB file under your Web-root folder.

3. Is MS-SQL Database included in the reseller package?
Ans : Yes, you can host your MSSQL database with us, it’s included in your reseller Package.

4. How long will it take to set up our hosting?
Ans : Account setup will take only 60 to 90 minutes after verification of payment is done.

5. Do you offer a service to move our sites from their current hosting?
Ans : Moving your data would depend on the control panel you are using with your present hosting provider, the number of individual domain accounts to be moved & size of the total data.

6. Do you offer a Database backup service - if yes how frequent is the backup & how much does it cost?
Ans : We provide MSSQL 2005 express, which comes with its own management interface called SQL-Express Management Studio. This allows you to manage the administration of your databases. You would have to raise a helpdesk ticket to request a backup to be taken and/or restoring a backup for you. There are no charges involved in this.

7. What type of control panel comes with windows hosting?
Ans : Our Windows hosting plan comes with Plesk 8.2 (the newest stable version). The additional components which are included with Plesk are as follows.

Q. Can I monitor space and bandwidth usage on a daily basis?

Ans: You can monitor the disk space and the monthly bandwidth of your account on a daily basis by logging in to the specific domain name`s control panel and on the left hand-side you will be able to view this. Regarding the monthly bandwidth there is one more option you can view the daily used bandwidth from the stats panel. That is in the cpanel >> web/ftp stats >> awstats.

Q. Are backups included for shared and reseller hosting?

Ans: WebHosting.UK.com backs up each system every day. The backups are available for complete system failure only. Customers requesting file restores will be charged extra to retrieve data. We will soon be offering FTP backup space allowing you to control your own data retention schedules.

Q. Do you allow adult websites on your servers?

Ans: As long as your content is legal Web Hosting UK is happy to host your adult content website and you should hold the copyright releases to all the information, including model releases. Pornography or sexually-explicit images of children or any pictures videos is prohibited on all our servers. If we get any complaint or notification of copyright infringement or illegal/stolen content then you may have to remove the abusive content or take your website(s) elsewhere.

Shared Web Hosting :

Shared hosting is Web hosting in which multiple sites are hosted on a single server, so each account ends up “sharing” server space with other accounts. Although Shared hosting is a less expensive way for businesses to create a Web presence, it is usually not sufficient for Web sites with high traffic. Shared hosting is best for the normal websites and smaller ecommerce websites.

VPS Hosting:

VPS technology presents multiple isolated server environments on a single physical server. Each VPS uses its own disk space, RAM, CPU, IP addresses and it can be rebooted independently. Each VPS performs and executes exactly like a stand-alone server. In nearly every perspective you can see a VPS as if it’s a dedicated server.

Q.What happen if MS SQL database space exceeds the limit, an account will be suspended or hosted application using database will work with errors?

Ans : Well, the account won’t be suspended for exceeding the space limit. You might get some errors on the URL that might be using MSSQL databases.

The website is only suspended if you exceed your bandwidth limit but that is only after you ignore the notifications that are sent to you when you reach 80% of the bandwidth limit.

Q. Do you Support ASP.NET MSSQL MS ACCESS & ODBC on your windows hosting plans ?

Ans: Yes. We support generic ASP, ASP.NET 3.0 and 2.0, MSSQL 2000, MS SQL 2005, MS ACCESS, ODBC along with DSN which is used for data connection string. You can choose from 2 version of asp.net from your control panel and change the asp.net version of your website as per your requirement.

We use plesk control panel for windows hosting and microsoft sql server 2000 is integrated along with the plesk control panel. You can add database as well as username from the control panel and access your mssql database using enterprise manager from your local machine. MySQL is also support on our windows servers and you can configure MySQL database from control panel in same way. You get PhpMyAdmin for MySQL database management and you can add / remove tables and make database changes using PhpMyAdmin . You can also connect to your MySQL database from your local machine using a MySQL client like mysqlyog.

What will happen if I use the complete alloted webspace?

Ans: Your website will continue to work even if you reach the limit of your diskspace quota.

Cpanel will send automated email notifications once you reach disk quota limits. If you ignore those notifications your website will continue to work but incoming emails will get bounced and no new records will be added to your database.

Only solution to this is to upgrade to next higher plan for getting more disk space.

Q. Do you provide shell access with the shared hosting plans?

Ans: We do NOT provide shell access with our shared hosting plans, if you need root SSH access or administrator RDP access you can consider our Virtual Private Servers or Semi-dedicated servers as they allow total control and flexibility.
