HTTPS with webmail?

Hi Guys

I am another one of the happy customers, been impressed with everything since I've started moving stuff over. Thought I would join the forum instead of harassing the poor support guys.

Just a quick question, I have both linux and windows hosting with you. However I was disappointed that I cant get into my webmail for windows hosting using SSL, is this supported in the windows hosting? It is in my linux shared package.

Could someone clear this up for me? I'd be grateful.

We are glad to know that you are happy with the kind of hosting services we offer

You can login into the webmail for Linux hosting packages using SSL certificate as it is supported on Linux hosting packages, however, it is not supported on Windows hosting packages and hence you won't be able to login using SSL certificate in webmail for Windows.

You can login to your Windows Webmail using following link :-
http://mail.yourDomainName.com:9998
username : your email address
password : password of your email account.
Well, you can't access your webmail account using SSL protocol.

It is a shame window sdoesnt have that too, not a problem.

Yes, you won't be able to login in the webmail of Windows using the SSL certificate, however, this is possible with Linux

can you give me the reason why it is not possible for SSL,
i am new to this hosting stuff.. would like to know more about it.

Webmail with SSL doesnt work with the Windows packages we offer, hence its not supported. But as Linux does it, it's recommended to switch in case you need the emails to be checked through the secure protocol..
