Default How to get started with web hosting?

I would like to host my website. I have read a lot of information about how to select a good web hosting company. However I am still confused about how to get started? How do I determine the bandwidth and web space required by my website?

I can help you here. Well firstly, could you please confirm if that your website has no videos/video streaming involved.
If its a simple website with images and content, you can very well start with the shared hosting packages that we offer
In case the resource requirements increase in future, you can upgrade the plans at any point of time.

Post Re:

See, If you are starting small, you could look at just a reseller plan on a shared server, or you could even look at just a shared hosting account that allows addon/parked domains.

Firstly, you will have to determine the purpose of your website and the type of content it will have. After you are done with this, you need to figure out how much disk space does your website requires on the web server. Once you know the disk space required, it will become easy to select a hosting plan or server. Also, you need to check if you wish to install some applications on the server for your requirements as if this is needed, the type of hosting plan or server you need to select will be entirely different.

Hi Royston

My website will include some promotional videos in it. Can I still opt for the shared web hosting plan?

Yes, you can still consider a mid or the higher shared hosting package to host your website. But if the usage goes high then you will have to upgrade to a cloud or a dedicated server.
