How to get started with web hosting?

I would like to host my website. I have read a lot of information about how to select a good web hosting company. However I am still confused about how to get started? How do I determine the bandwidth and web space required by my website?

After you are done with this, you need to figure out how much disk space does your website requires on the web server. Once you know the disk space required, it will become easy to select a hosting plan or server. Yes, you can still consider a mid or the higher shared hosting package to host your website. But if the usage goes high then you will have to upgrade to a cloud or a dedicated server.
