What are Game server, Forum server ?

What are Game server and Forum server, are these exact the same server or some other server which are specific in some kind of hardware configuration ?

Game servers and Forum servers are nothing but normal servers having applications like game or some forum applications installed on it. There is no additional Hardware required to host those on the servers. Generally a Game can be hosed on a Dedicated server. For this you need to consider a Dedicated server from us and then you can install any game on it which makes it a Game server. Moving on too Forum Hosting now, there are various Forum applications like phpBB or V-Bulletin or some other which if installed on the server, can be used for Forum hosting.

So are there any specific servers assigned for installing games and hosting forums. If yes, than please let me know the reason for that.

There are no such servers assigned for installing games or for hosting forums based websites. But we generally recommend a Dedicated server for hosting a game. As game websites need large bandwidth and good RAM, so only a Dedicated server can fulfill your requirements. A game will run swiftly on a Dedicated server and you will definitely get a better performance.

For Forum Hosting, you can choose any hosting plan based on your space and bandwidth requirements. Generally low traffic Forum websites can be hosted even on Shared Hosting plans. You can even upgrade your Hosting plan as the traffic on your website grows and move onto a higher hosting plan.
