Default cPanel, which is best Roundcube, Horde, Squirrelmail

Hi all, I have cPanel setup on my server and have Roundcube, Horde, Squirrelmail. Which is best roundcube, Horde, Squirrelmail? I plan to provide just one webmail client to my users. So I am wondering if I know what most users prefer it will be easy for me to decide.

I was using SquirrelMail (never tried any other before). After looking at RoundCube, now I never use SquirrelMail. I like the interface of RoundCube.

I've been using RoundCube for a while now, it's offered automatically by my webhost, so I don't know if I have an optimized version, or that's what RoundCube is all about, and I've tried Horde on my localhost, I gotta admit I was astonished with its capabilities and extendibility, so my advise would be:

If you want to provide a lightweight, speedy, resources sufficient client then go RoundCube.

But if you want to offer a high-end service, GMail like then go with Horde with no regrets.

If it was me, I'll go Horde any day in my life.

Personally I like Horde..

As Horde is like full featured e-mail program. It has a list of options for you to choose from: Mail, News, Calendar, Notes, Tasks. It also has the feature Layout where you can change how the home page is displayed for you when you log in to your mail.

It has mainly following features Which I am fond of

News- Setup Subscriptions to receive mail from different sources

Calendar- Allows you to setup important dates and meetings (These can be imported from other programs)

Notes- Write notes or other information down and store it for later.

Tasks- You can schedule tasks that need to be completed and keep track of their progress.

Options- Customize how the time is displayed, how the color scheme of Horde appears, along with many other settings.

In the end it really it comes down to what you need: SquirrelMail for simplicity, Horde for the large amount of features, and RoundCube for the aesthetic appearance.

Hello,

In my opinion Squirrel mail offers simplicity of use, with simplicity all the basic objectives of an email application can be full-filled with the use of Squirrel mail. It is simpler and light weight application as compared to horde and round-cube. So there are less chances with malfunctioning.

I too prefer going with Round cube as it GUI interface is much better than other mail managers, its easily manage to get thing done very easily.Where as RoundCube is a PHP/MySQL based webmail system, which is opensource and rammed full of AJAX goodness. It’s still officially an alpha release, but shows a LOT of promise. Here’s the opening line from the RoundCube website…
