Webhosted site's location and it's users' location

Hello everyone.
I was wondering if there were any advantages of having a site hosted in the same geographical location as (most of) the site's users; e.g. UK hosted site serving predominantly UK based users?

Yes, geographical location plays important role in website performance & access speed also it helps in website ranking. If you are targeting UK traffic then then it's advised to host your website on UK server also try to get hold on UK tld for your website.
