Default UK datacenter

I am having a debate with a friend of mine. He says if you are renting either just hosting space or you are renting an entire rack from a DC then you can say "I have my own DC", to me that's not true since you are not owning or renting the entire building (or floor for that matter).

Well, if you have some servers and racks hosted in a Datacenter, it doesn't mean that it's your own Datacenter. However, if you have your own servers or racks hosted in the Datacenter, you are eligible for it's services.

Raising a Datacenter is not an easy task and hence it is not possible for every individual or Web Hosting company to have it's own Datacenter. This is the reason for which some of the individuals or even Web Hosting Providers have their own servers and racks located in the Datacenter in order to get/offer Datacenter services.

From expirence you could be done for miss-selling / misleading information, you could say that we own our own equipment within the datacentre and deal directly with them.

But saying you own a data centre would certainly be misleading and would be exposed when the brown stuff hits the fan!
