There are multiple factors responsible for faster speed. Network connectivity to the server is most important amongst them.

Hi,

Welll, IMO the speed of a dedicated server depends upon various factors such as the processor, RAM, network speed and the application you will be using on it.

If you have an existing dedicated server which is just a starter level dedicated server and you try to use an application on it which requires high resources, then maybe you can face issues with your server.

RAM is just a volatile memory which keeps applications in it's memory for faster access but if your server don't have enough processing power CPU then it's of no use, hence adding more RAM doesn't mean your server will run SUPER FAST

You can term a Server as Super FAST server if it have a good Processor ( Dual/Quad core), enough RAM and SAS harddrive with good rpm. Yeah, network connectivity should also be taken into consideration if you are using it for hosting applications.

As Harry said, RAM is just another factor. A good server is mainly excellent CPU & RAM combined. Making use of RAM upgrades that such companies offer on dedicated servers is always a good idea.

To sum it up, Good CPU, more RAM and excellent Network connectivity to the server can offer you lightening fast speed at all hours.

Alongwith all the factors provided above, I think the quality of hardware also makes a difference. If you choose a hosting provider who offers Dell Branded Servers (like WHUK

), you will definitely get excellent performance with the dedicated server

I agree with you about Dell. It's indeed a reliable brand. I have been using a Dell PC for quite awhile and never got issues with it. Anyway, besides the factors mentioned above, think the system maintenance also plays important roles to determine your server speed.

Certainly. If the server is not maintained properly, even the server with the best possible hardware won't offer good performance.
