Default Selecting webhosting

Hello

I need advise from experienced people with webhosting.

For a site similar to myspace.com

Registered 30,000 profiles and for example 3,000 users logging in at same time in 1 hour.

Does a VPS 1 gb ram can handle it or i will have to use dedicated server?

Thanks in advance

Well, for a website based on myspace.com theme which is expected to have huge traffic and database i will advice you to go with one of our Quad Core Dedicated server for optimum performance.

Yes, going for fully managed dedicated server from webhosting.uk.com would be the best solution for you.

Thumbs up

@webdesignlebanon: As per your requirements, I would recommend you to start with a Quad Core dedicated server for now which should be sufficient for your requirements to start with. If your requirements increase in future, you can choose a dedicated server with higher configuration or consider a load balancing solution

With 3000 users logging in at the same time on your website, I don't think a VPS would suffice for your requirements. Even if it does initially, it will be able to sustain that much amount of traffic for too long. You will feel the need to upgrade to a dedicated server sooner or later.

Hence, a better option would be to start off with a dedicated server (even a lower configuration dedicated server would be fine to start with ) and then upgrade to a higher configuration dedicated server when the number of users increase with time

You know, one thing that hasn't been addressed, and for a site of that caliber, would probably be better, and that's cloud hosting.

Cloud hosting would allow you to start small and scale as your site grows, without the hassle of transferring files from shared to VPS to dedicated to clustered, etc..

When you are talking a site like FB or MS, they are all on cloud solutions, and that's why they can support a million simultaneous logins.

Default Quick Tip

I recommend you get unlimited bandwidth and space to cope with such a heavy usage site. Dedicated servers are recommended and are easily available. Web Hosting UK have some good packages to chose from.
