If you have to pay for resources as well as pay the service provider for the Server Management, I don't know how this Colo of server can help you in reducing costs..

In comparison to dedicated hosting, you can host a powerful machine, of any specification (within reason) for much cheaper than dedicated server providers will offer the price.
Co-Location is a brilliant method, not only for expense, but for the freedom to know that it's your own hardware, and you know exactly what's going on.
The majority of colocation providers allow the user full access to their machine, 24/7 and also 24/7 monitoring.

Important thing to think about when co-locating though, is ease of access to the site.
With co-location, your placing your equipment inside someone elses network, and it's your problem if your system goes down due to equipment failure, the last thing that you want on a friday night at 3 am in the morning is a phone call that it's gone down, and then have to make a 5 hr drive to do 200 miles to reach the datacenter where you are co-located.

Indeed Hexosphere, but alongside that, with colocation packages; dedicated hands on support is offered for free on a daily basis at most providers, so if it's swapping a hard-drive, or replacing a NIC it shouldn't be too expensive, or merely free.

Data Security, availability and stability are some of the reasons, why businesses move their hardware to colocation services. Aspects like high-speed, their advanced security, redundant power and the cooling sytems are the things small businesses can't afford to manage. Before, going for colocation services you should not only consider the benefits but also the drawbacks. However, if you opt for colocation services you will have to buy your own server and the initial investment will be much higher than you think.
Compare to colocation, managed hosting may seems to be costly, but the server management services offered in it removes all your burden of maintaining your server. However, it completely depends on your budget and technical knowledge, where to invest your money.
