There are oversellers who sell the products that they can't There are so many topics that we can discuss in this thread. I would prefer to discuss about the hosting platform. Definitely, Linux and Windows, being the best platforms, users prefer Linux. This is basically because it is cheap, being an open-source OS. I would appreciate if someone from technical team can highlight and compare both these OSs.

Yes, there are many hosting providers who claim to provide Unlimited disk space and bandwidth which is not possible.

One of the other reasons newbies in the hosting industry get attracted towards these kind of hosting providers is the fact that these hosting providers keep the prices of the hosting packages very low as they cannot provide what they claim (unlimited disk space and bandwidth). After some time, most of these hosting providers suspend the hosting account of customers and ask them to upgrade to a Dedicated server or a higher configuration package

Due to this, newbies in the hosting industry loose faith in hosting providers and the hosting industry which is certainly not good.

I wonder how a company like heart internet get away with it? I know quite a few people with a reseller package with them, simply because they were taken in by there unlimited resources. Funny enough they all seem very happy with their service, but everytime i goto one of their sites it is slow as hell

Slow loading of the site does not only affect the visitors feedback towards the site but it will definitely affect your site's sales and other aspects. Sales being the highest priority will definitely be affected

Leaving sales apart, it will also have an affect on the Search engine rankings of your site (as far as I know ). I wouldn't say that it is a very important part of search engine algorithms, however, I think search engines must have some part of algorithm for this purpose as they always want to keep the end user experience as good as possible (they say this and by the way they work for it, I think they are right ).

Hence, I think they must have some part in the algorithm to check the loading speed of the site to make sure that they provide the best experience to the visitors.
