Isn't an easy job ofcourse, needs a lot of planning for sure..

However there are definitely some things to keep in mind before starting a new web hosting company.

I am sure the list is huge, some important ones are:

Set up your hosting plans.
Build a business website.
Next you need a billing software and a support software.
You also need a Paypal account or a 2CO account, depends on what mode of payments you will offer.
A SSL ofcourse to secure the site.

Once you get the website going then comes the most difficult part - the selling and Marketing your website for it.

My personal recommendation to you would be, invest in a reseller account for now. Upgrade to a VPS at the right time

Good Luck!

You can be the reseller of WHUK.

It would be an easiest way for you to start a hosting business. WHUK has various reseller plans. You can check them here.

Also, you can resell VPS, semi-dedicated servers and dedicated servers. You can create your own customized packages and resell them.

Well, it is surely difficult to setup a web hosting company but I think more difficult than setting it up is maintaining the company as this requires a lot of hard work

Windows VPS: Windows VPS Hosting | Plesk VPS Web Hosting | Cheap UK Virtuozzo VPS
Linux VPS: VPS Hosting | Linux VPS Web Hosting | cPanel VPS Hosting | Cheap UK Virtuozzo VPS
Semi-dedicated Server: Semi Dedicated Server Hosting | Managed UK Semi Dedicated Server Solutions
Dedicated Servers: Dedicated Server Hosting | Dedicated Linux Windows Servers | Managed Dedicated Servers

Yes I agree with Matt, instead of opening a new hosting company you can start with reseller hosting.

If you are looking to start your hosting company then probable you should start with small reseller packages because it's a very difficult task.YOu can start with reseller hosting packages. On that package you will get your own control panel through that control panel you can create webhosting packages for client........

First thing to be taken into consideration is that the web hosting market is highly saturated and you'll be competing with some very well known companies who have been around for a while and can offer more than you can.

Start in a small way with a reseller account and see how it goes. You can plan an upgrade to a VPS or even a dedicated server in future depending upon the growth of your business.

Some things are easy to start but difficult to run. webhosting is difficult to start and difficult to run aswell. starting with reseller hosting can lead to good experience.

Getting into webhosting business is not a big deal but to sustain in this over crowded market is very difficult.
Do your homework before you start with your new venture.

You need to have enough contacts who can help you with mouth publicity promoting your business, you need to have good technical support staff, reliable servers, good reputation and most important " PATIENCE " for getting returns from your webhosting business

Yes, very well said Harry. It is very important to have a good technical support crew in order to provide support to the clients. A web hosting company should also have people that can bring in more business. Maintaining a web hosting business should not face any problems with well trained teams such support team, sales and marketing, billing and phone support.

Also one needs to keep in mind that PATIENCE and hard work is the only tool to succeed in the web hosting business.

If anyone wish to start his own hosting company then his first option is "Reseller Hosting".

Could you please let us know what do you mean by "new hosting company" here ?

I can't imagine all the web hosting companies have their own DC. It is next to impossible. If you search for Web Hosting Companies, view the Site Map then you will get many companies without a DC.

If this is the equation then there would have been millions of Datacenter.

You need to research a lot, Sean.
